Two-dimensional motion of a horizontal projectile.
Challenge students to predict the range of a projectile launched from the ramp! Accurate measurements make it possible! Launch point can be adjusted to any height on the stand, above the table or floor. Mount a photogate to the lower end, and measure the launch velocity. Use that velocity to predict the range.
Please note: The Horizontal Projectile Lab requires the Physics Workshop Stand and Timer and Photogates. The Physics Workshop Stand has universal use for the following Physics Workshop Labs: Pendulum Lab, Car and Ramp Lab, Lever Lab, and Gravity Lab.
